We switched from another instructor so our daughter (then 6 years old) could learn to read music as well as learn to play piano, and we immediately found Mrs. Wiser to be absolutely amazing. She was patient and kind, and didn’t just teach our daughter musical skills, she inspired her to want to play piano by making each lesson and the overall learning experience fun. Within weeks of switching to The Piano Bench, our daughter stopped looking at piano lessons and home practice as chores, and began to not only want to practice, but playing daily due to her own desire to do so.
In addition, the end of the year recitals Mrs. Wiser put on were exceptionally well-organized events, and getting to hear other children (and a few adults) play made it clear that she had the ability to teach piano to people of all ages and skill levels.
We stayed with Mrs. Wiser for two years and would have continued with her had she not moved out of state. Our daughter learned a tremendous amount in that time and I speak for the whole family when I say we are still sorry to have lost her."

"Debbie is one of the best piano teachers you’ll ever come across. She made learning the piano so much fun for my four children! Our two girls had played previously with another teacher, then we moved to Alaska and met Debbie. We felt so blessed to learn in her studio! She kept my girls engaged and learning songs at their level allowing them to progress quickly. Our twin boys started piano with Debbie at age 6 and needless to say were pretty squirrelly. No problem for Debbie or my boys! She was able to keep their attention during lessons and with her annual theme (last year it was pirates), our boys were eager to listen so they could earn little prizes each week. Practices and lessons at home went well...even with Covid. Debbie found a way and it worked! We had such a hard time replacing such an AMAZING piano teacher when she moved away...so we decided we wouldn’t! We are taking lessons with her virtually!
